Study for Brass employs thematic and harmonic materials derived from the composer’s 20th century studies for two violins. The work is modal and lyrical in nature. Numerous polychords and sudden harmonic shifts highlight the entire piece. The solo part (Euphonium) is full of ornamentations and virtuoso passages.
