Grecian Variations for Solo Viola and String Orchestra

Grecian Variations was commissioned by and dedicated to violist Jerzy Kosmala, who premiered the piece on October 22, 1987, in Poland. The work is based on a Greek folk tune and employs modal scales and rhythms that are abundant in Greek folk music.
